Fisheries Technology Engineering,
Marine Biology, Ecology and Oceanography

At the University of Kyrenia, we explore the life offered by the seas through a scientific perspective, educating our students as both researchers and environmentally conscious marine professionals. Through Fisheries Technology Engineering, we focus on the efficient and sustainable use of marine resources, while our Marine Biology, Ecology and Oceanography programme aims to protect marine ecosystems, monitor the impacts of climate change, and develop solutions for the future of the oceans.

In these programmes, students are equipped not only with scientific research skills and technical knowledge but also with an awareness of environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable resource management.

Our graduates take leading roles in projects that safeguard marine ecosystems across the globe, in the fisheries industry, and in research centres, thereby shaping the future of the seas. With the education and fieldwork provided at our university, students actively engage in areas ranging from reducing marine pollution to advancing sustainable fisheries, protecting coastal ecosystems, and collaborating with local communities.

At the University of Kyrenia, marine sciences are approached not only as an academic discipline but also as a critical responsibility for the future of society and the continuity of natural life. In line with this vision, our students work with local fishermen, non-governmental organisations, public institutions, and international partners to develop collaborative projects that contribute both to science and to society.

The Faculty of Marine Sciences at the University of Kyrenia offers students opportunities for scientific careers while also instilling a deep sense of responsibility for building a sustainable future. Because we believe that to protect the seas is to protect the world.
