Our sustainability goals reflect both our regional responsibilities and our global vision:
- Integrate SDGs into education
Embed sustainability principles across all faculties so every programme makes a clear contribution to the SDGs.
- Support research with impact
Advance interdisciplinary work in marine and maritime domains, health and wellbeing, education and skills, technology and innovation, and social responsibility - with practical outcomes.
- Enhance campus sustainability
Improve resource stewardship on campus (energy, water, waste, mobility), and share concise, bilingual updates so progress is visible.
- Strengthen social responsibility
Grow community-centred initiatives - such as the 60+ Refreshment University - that promote lifelong learning, inclusion and intergenerational exchange.
- Lifelong and continuing education for all
Through the Continuing Education Center (GUSEM), expand short-term, international-standard training for individuals and institutions. Prioritise interactive, skills-based learning that helps people upskill, reskill and renew their practice.
- Evidence and transparency
Tag activities to SDGs; provide public links, posters and summaries; and keep evidence easy to find via our Events pages.
- Engage locally, collaborate globally
Build partnerships within Cyprus and internationally to share expertise, scale impact and contribute credibly to the global SDG agenda.
